Greetings OC AA and Al-Anon Community

Welcome to the 39th Annual Orange County AA Convention with Al-Anon Participation.

"Fun, Fellowship, and More in 2024!"

My hope is that everyone who attends this year's convention is able to benefit from the recovery offered in the 12 Steps of AA and Al-Anon. When I first found out about Al-Anon, I was surprised that there was a program to help family members who were effected by alcoholism.  I knew that my life was in shambles, but I had very little hope. I am grateful that Al-Anon was created and based on the same 12 Steps that AA uses.  Because of Al-Anon, I was given hope in the beginning when I was completely overwhelmed by the effects of the disease of alcoholism.  Today, I continue to participate in Al-Anon because of the practical and spiritual solutions it provides for me.

I am happy to be part of this year's Al-Anon program which includes six Al-Anon speakers, including one in Spanish this year.  Please attend any (or all!) of our speaker meetings. Included in your registration is all of our marathon meetings on Friday and Saturday.  Since this is a family disease, everyone is also able to attend the various AA speaker and marathon meetings. However you choose to participate, thank you for being part of our fellowship of recovery.

Finally, I want to thank all the volunteers who have participated in preparing the program, decorations, and meetings available to you this weekend. All their names are listed in this program. Feel free to thank them for their part in making this a successful weekend of family recovery. In addition to all the volunteers for the Al-Anon portion of the program,  I would also like to thank the AA committee for always making Al-Anon feel welcome and a vital part of this convention. Denyse R. and Manny A. have done an amazing job of organizing this year's convention.

Have fun and enjoy the fellowship and recovery available to all this weekend.

In Gratitude,

Kevin O.
